The psalmist reminds us that our time is short in Psalm 90:10, “The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.” And when our life draws to a close, Psalm 146:4 tells us that at that moment, all our intents and pursuits come to an end, “His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.”
But there is an action you could take to create a lasting legacy, namely, to leave a gift to sustain the sharing of the gospel, such that others may have that opportunity to respond Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 11:28 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”.
