What’s Christianity all about? Well, it covers a number of beliefs and principles. But, in a nutshell, it’s all about relationships. The Christian Holy Book, the Bible, is filled with stories that focus on relationships and how we can enjoy peace and happiness in our lives.

We’re social creatures. We’re wired to connect to others from the moment we’re born. Have you noticed that virtually everything about life revolves around relationships? Our families, our partners, our friends, our customers, our colleagues … where there are people there are relationships taking place.

Healthy relationships are a vital component of our health and wellbeing. There is compelling evidence that strong relationships contribute to a long, healthy, and happy life. And the same is true in our spiritual life.

Having a vibrant, close relationship with Jesus Christ is what Christianity is all about. It’s about a friendship – a friendship with Jesus Christ. Jesus said that knowing Him is the doorway to a special relationship with God.

And this special relationship can bring peace and happiness – not just here and now, but more importantly, for eternity. So, here are 8 simple Bible facts on ‘What Christianity is all about. – and what that means for you personally.

Fact number 1. God loves you and has a plan for your life.

The Bible says: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
(Jeremiah 29:11)

Fact number 2. We’ve all made mistakes. We have all done, thought, or said bad things, which the Bible calls sin.

The Bible says: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
(Romans 3:23)

Fact number 3. The result of sin is death, separation from God.

The Bible says: For the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Your iniquities have separated you from your God (Isaiah 59.2).

Fact number 4. God loves you and wants to save you so that you can be with Him forever.

The Bible says: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Fact number 5. Jesus died in your place and paid the penalty for your sins so you can have a personal relationship with God.

“But God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Fact number 6. If you accept Jesus as your Saviour and ask for your sins to be forgiven, then all of your mistakes, past and present, will be forgiven.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

Fact number 7. If you believe that Jesus lived, died for you and rose again, then you can have the assurance of eternal life.

The Bible says: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life. (1 John 5:11,12)

Fact number 8. If you believe in Jesus and follow Him He’s going to come back and get you so that you can live with Him forever.

Jesus says in the Bible: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. (John 14:1-3)

So, there we have them – eight Bible facts that tell us what Christianity us all about
